The Gigachad Commandments

Definitions

GigachadDespite the gendered origins of the term, any person of any identity can be a gigachad if they meet the criteria stated in the commandments.
Formally, being a gigachad is defined based on the context, but it is possible to be a gigachad in general.
CowardThe opposite of a gigachad.

Amaurot

  • Second boss - has stacking damage taken up with enrage after add phase (3 waves of adds I think), can stall on one add in the last wave and then need flute + trident + sting combo to clear

  • Third boss will keep running closer but Apokalypsos or whatever (giant laser) can actually be healed through, didn't see a true enrage.

RP (IC)

TLDR: I'm enrolled in the Studium and am working on my Archon's thesis on programmable aether and automated magic. Aside from my studies, I'm interested in nature, natural history, and most recently experiencing the diverse cultures in Eorzea and beyond.

I was born in the Golmore Jungle. My mother was a botanist and, contrary to our culture and traditions, was curious about the outside world. When I was still a kit she decided to leave the forest with me (making us both exiles) and expand her horizons instead of living in protected ignorance. We travelled to Dalmasca to live with the locals, but my mother didn't adjust well to the hot and dry foreign climate. In her weakened state she was particularly sensitive to diseases, and she passed away only a few moons after we had arrived in Dalmasca.I was left in the care of my mother's physician: a visiting scholar and chirurgeon from Sharlayan, who took me in as an apprentice and taught me the basics of medicine and anatomy. I had clearly inherited my mother's inquisitive mind and love for asking questions, and my mentor was all too willing to indulge my curiosity. She would amaze me with stories of her homeland, a place of knowledge and research where questions are expected and encouraged, so when it came time for her to return to Sharlayan I was all too eager to follow.

I continued my apprenticeship as a chirurgeon and began studying somanautics, but as the moons passed I started spending less time in the operating room and more time in the Noumenon. I realized that my true interests lie not in practicing medicine or magic, but in gaining a better understanding of them from an academic point of view. Thus, I rotated my focus from becoming a Sage to becoming an Archon and enrolled in the Studium.

Outside of my studies, I'm an amateur naturalist and like exploring the Labyrinthos and seeing the gleaners' newest specimens. I also enjoy strategy games like Triple Triad. More recently I've begun visiting the Eorzean city-states, particularly Limsa Lominsa and the arcanist's guild, and I'm fascinated by the lives of people outside the austere and academic atmosphere in Sharlayan. Now that we're experiencing a period of peace and open borders, I'm eager to let my hair down, travel, and experience the diverse cultures on Etheirys!

Work, Projects, and Other Fluff (IC)

Research Abstract

I'm broadly interested in automated aether, including understanding perpetual aetheric processes such as the floating city of Nym. Specifically, I'm working on the question "Can we automate the aetheric manipulation done by a mage and construct a useful system that continues on its own, unsupervised, until the source of aether is depleted?" The motivation for this problem comes from somanautics; if a Sage can have their nouliths perform and repeat a list of scheduled instructions corresponding to a medical procedure, this would greatly reduce human effort and error. I've started calling such a list of instructions a "program," after the Ul'dahn term for an opera house's written list of pieces scheduled for the evening. I believe that such aether programs have the potential to be applied to a wide variety of applications beyond somanautics.

Somanautics

While I was still a Sage in training, my subspecialty was in stereotactic aethersurgery, a technique where the practitioner channels resonant beams of astrally or umbrally aspected aether from their nouliths from different angles. These beams are harmless on their own but their effect is amplified at their intersection point via constructive interference, allowing the Sage to deliver a high dose of aether to a specific point within the patient's body from the outside. This minimally invasive surgical technique does not require any incisions to perform, and when it can be applied it is far safer than traditional operations.
